Meet my doppelganger

Back when I was a wee little girl circa the 1980s, the word doppelganger didn't exist. People would just say you looked like someone else.

For instance.

Friends: "You look like Punky Brewster."
Young me: "Really? Is that a good thing?"
Friends: "It's the freckles."
Young me: "Ok."

So I grew up most of my life hearing that I looked just like Punky Brewster.

Recently, I decided to look up Miss Punky to see what she had been up to lately. You know how you lose track of child stars and wonder if they stayed in the business, ended up in jail or started their own puppy factory? Well, I was curious if my look-a-like was now successful or not so much.

And what I discovered was that Punky Brewster had a pretty good life. Two beautiful daughters. Good husband. Successful career.

But somehow, the last 25 years had been way kinder to Punky than to me.

Maybe we looked alike in the 80s, but that's where it stopped.

Damn you Punky Brewster for looking hotter than me.

    First of all Jenna you are gorgeous. Secondly you guys do favor each other so much even still I can see it. Crazy. I've never thought of my doppelganger hummm don't think I have one

    I've been told Brett Butler (of ABC sitcom "Grace Under Fire" fame) and Helen Hunt. Definitely agree with BB as far as the wit/attitude, but honestly, I don't hold a candle to HH. Flattering all the same, though. ;-)

    Shana, yes, you are totally Brett Butler! And I don't think I've ever told you this, but you also remind me of a friend of mine in Franklin...y'all could be sisters!

    Rachel, you're too funny, but Ginnifer Goodwin is gorgeous, so take it as a major compliment!

    I have been told about 3 or 4 times in the past couple of months that I look like Natalie Portman..I dont see it but hey, ill take it:)

    First of all love the attitude in the 80's secondly you are gorgeous. I have never been told I look like anyone, so i choose to think I'm one of a kind!
